Position Purpose: The Assistant Regional Maintenance Manager is a working leadership role responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities across greenhouse and packhouse operations. This position actively performs hands-on maintenance work while assisting in supervising maintenance staff, ensuring equipment reliability, facility safety, and efficient operations to support business goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Average Percent of Time 40 % Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of greenhouse and packhouse equipment and systems. 25 % Assist in supervising, coordinating, and documenting all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. 15 % Conduct daily inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential failures or safety hazards and support preventative maintenance efforts.. 10 % Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining preventative maintenance programs for existing and new equipment. 10 % Prepare and maintain work orders, maintenance logs, and preventative maintenance schedules.. OTHER FUNCTIONS * Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure maintenance requests and safety concerns are addressed promptly. * Support cost-control initiatives by identifying opportunities for improved materials, vendors, and processes. * Assist in scheduling maintenance staff to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing labor efficiency. * Lead by example by actively participating in maintenance tasks alongside the team and providing on the job guidance and support * Promote and reinforce safety standards and compliance with company policies. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. * Participate in special projects, audits (including SMETA or safety audits), and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned. * Assist with training and development of maintenance team members. OTHER DUTIES Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Village Fresh from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to your Supervisor. This position requires working in a variety of environments, including office, maintenance shop, greenhouse, and packhouse settings, with regular exposure to dust, heat, noise, and mechanical equipment. * Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) * Used required PPE (safety glasses, face shield, dust mask, safey gloves, hearing protection, harness, etc) * Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Positions directly reporting to this position (titles): * Maintenance team SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. * Strong leadership and team support skills * Effective verbal and written communication skills (English required; Spanish preferred * Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills * Working knowledge of electrical, mechanica and general maintenance systems * Understanding of preventative maintenance systems and documentation * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: EDUCATION * High school Diploma or equivalent required * Technical or trade school training perfered EXPERIENCE * 5 – 7+ years of maintenance experience * 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES * LOTO and safety training perferred NOTICE: Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Village Fresh LLC. rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.
