Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Terminal Maintenance, you add value to the team in the following categories:

  • Assist in developing, planning, prioritizing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive preventative and reliability-centered maintenance program.
  • Manage maintenance projects through effective planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Work with consultants to develop and present technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, legislative, and technical standards.
  • Respond to emergencies as required.
  • Assist in hiring qualified tradespeople and support staff.
  • Help develop and implement training programs.
  • Provide technical expertise, leadership, mentorship, and guidance to staff.
  • Assign, track, and monitor regional staff work with a focus on safety, prioritization, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support disciplinary actions in accordance with the collective agreement.
  • Contribute input to the collective bargaining process.
  • Maintain the asset database to support maintenance planning and record asset health.
  • Utilize CMMS software effectively.
  • Develop and improve standards, job plans, and maintenance processes.
  • Ensure maintenance routines and job plans align with objectives and standards.
  • Create systems to record and store historical maintenance data.
  • Monitor activities and provide progress reports.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Follow company finance and supply chain policies when acquiring contracted services.
  • Develop RFPs, evaluate proposals, and work with procurement to establish contracts.
  • Ensure contractors comply with BCF safety standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate contract work to ensure cost and quality meet contract terms.
  • Lead safety initiatives across maintenance operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and review incidents.
  • Coordinate with WorkSafe BC on safety matters.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and training qualifications.

    Performs other duties as required at the discretion of the Manager or Director.
