Job Title: Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil
Department: Projects – Supervision

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil to oversee the supervision and execution of civil construction works on-site. The role requires close coordination with contractors, consultants, clients, and authorities to ensure timely, quality-compliant, and regulation-conforming project delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Master’s in Construction Management or Project Management (Preferred)
  • Certifications:
  • Dubai Municipality certified
  • QA/QC and Quality Management certifications preferred
  • Experience:
  • Total: 14 to 18 years of relevant experience
  • Availability:
  • Must be able to join within 30 days from offer confirmation

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong technical knowledge of civil construction and finishing works
  • Sound understanding of local authority regulations and project compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills
  • Proficient in reviewing construction programs and project documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resolve site-related issues effectively
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control civil project execution in line with:
  • Approved drawings, specifications, contract documents, QA/QC plans, HSE policies, and authority regulations.
  • Review and approve:
  • Shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
  • Work inspections, material inspections, test reports, and quality control documentation.
  • Handle and respond to RFIs (Request for Information), CVIs (Confirmation of Verbal Instructions), and site queries.
  • Review and certify contractor submissions such as:
  • Payment applications, variation claims, and EOT (Extension of Time) requests.
  • Assess and approve:
  • Project baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, and construction programs.
  • Conduct and lead:
  • Weekly technical and progress review meetings.
  • Prepare and issue official Minutes of Meetings (MoMs).
  • Liaise and coordinate with all project stakeholders:
  • Clients, contractor teams, local authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor and report project non-conformances:
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Notices.
  • Ensure implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Evaluate and implement risk mitigation measures across project phases.
  • Support and supervise consultant site staff; provide technical guidance and mentoring.
