About the role We are currently seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer/Senior Inspector to lead daily field operations and support construction management across a variety of infrastructure projects. This role oversees staff and ensures smooth coordination of engineering, administrative, and financial activities. Projects include building and rail construction, concrete and paving work, and maintenance of traffic, with exposure to electrical, structural, mechanical, and environmental systems. The position also involves inspections for power, security, fire protection, and communication systems. What you'll do Oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes. Review and evaluate extra work items, cost estimates, and payment quantities. Conduct site inspections, attend progress meetings, and document field reports and meeting minutes. Coordinate construction activities with facility operations and maintenance to minimize disruptions. Manage a multidisciplinary team of 2–10 engineers, inspectors, and office staff. Oversee submittals, schedules, and other contract requirements to ensure timely approval. Communicate project updates, field conditions, and discrepancies to the Resident Engineer. Represent or act on behalf of the Resident Engineer as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural and/or Electrical engineering from an accredited college or university. P.E. License and/or R.A. preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in progressively more difficult and responsible construction management and inspection. Construction experience with concrete, and reinforcing placement, structural steel, asphalt paving, drainage, building construction and preparation of estimates. Minimum 5 years’ experience inspecting construction work, varied in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crew sizes per shift). OSHA 30-hour construction safety, and fall protection, confined space and permit required confined space entry and certification in work zone safety. Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Night and weekend shifts will be required. Valid Driver's License required. Ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance or SIDA at Airports or TWIC at Ports. Experience in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
