QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong DIY skills with the ability to perform minor plumbing and carpentry repairs
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, fire safety regulations, and life safety systems
  • Confidence working independently as well as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift up to 15 kg, bend, push, pull, and navigate stairs regularly
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office, text, and email; experience with YARDI is a strong asset
  • Strong communication skills — fluent in written and spoken English; a second language is an asset
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. certification
  • 2–5 years of experience in property management or a similar hands-on building operations role
  • Willingness to complete a criminal record background check

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Assistant Resident Manager, you’ll report to the Resident Manager (Property Manager) and serve as a key pillar of support for the building team and residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain daily cleanliness of common areas and prepare vacant suites for new residents
  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and concerns
  • Show available suites to prospective tenants and support leasing efforts
  • Book and coordinate contractors for maintenance and repairs
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property, including building systems and grounds
  • Assist with minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, basic HVAC checks)
  • Ensure life safety systems and fire regulations are adhered to
  • Provide exceptional customer service and help foster a positive community environment
  • Remain available for evening and weekend on-call duties.
