Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Restaurant Manager role based in Amsterdam. The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, including supervising front-of-house staff, coordinating with the kitchen team, and ensuring smooth service during peak hours. The role involves monitoring guest satisfaction, handling customer feedback, and helping maintain Ter Marsch & Co’s quality standards for food, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling, training new team members, overseeing cash handling procedures, and supporting inventory and ordering processes. The Assistant Restaurant Manager also helps implement company policies, promotes a positive work environment, and acts as a point of contact when the Restaurant Manager is not on-site.


Qualifications

  • Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service, with the ability to resolve issues professionally and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Effective Communication skills, including clear guidance to team members and courteous interaction with guests.
  • Experience with Hiring and onboarding staff, including supporting interviews, training, and performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including basic food safety, hygiene standards, and understanding of restaurant workflows.
  • Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management or supervisory roles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in basic point-of-sale systems and cash handling; familiarity with scheduling or inventory systems is an advantage.
  • Working proficiency in English; Dutch language skills are an asset.
