We’re looking for a confident, proactive and hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the Bryn Williams restaurant and catering team at Theatr Clwyd.

This is a varied operational role managing and working across our restaurant, bars, conference and events, and our café. From restaurant and pre-show dining to conferences, meetings, private events and busy theatre bars, you’ll be part of the management team responsible for delivering consistently high standards across a diverse operation.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with a hotel, conference and banqueting, or events operations background who are comfortable moving between different styles of service and leading teams across multiple hospitality spaces.

Your Role

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day management of our front of house operation, working across restaurant, bars, conference and events, and our café as required.

Support the Restaurant Manager and wider management team in leading the front of house operation

Take responsibility for service standards across restaurant, bar, C&E spaces and the cafe

Lead services and events on the floor, ensuring smooth and professional delivery from set-up through to completion

Coordinate and deploy team members across different hospitality areas according to business needs

Support the operational set-up, service and breakdown of conferences, meetings and functions

Act as an operational point of contact during services and events

Support the training and development of front of house team members

Ensure clear communication between front of house, kitchen and wider venue teams

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation across all hospitality areas

Assist with stock control, ordering and day-to-day operational planning

Lead by example in delivering warm, attentive and professional hospitality

What We’re Looking For

A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy hospitality operation

Experience within hotel, conference and banqueting, meetings and events, or function operations would be particularly advantageous

Confidence leading teams and running busy services or events on the floor

Experience working across different styles of hospitality service

Strong organisational and communication skills

A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure

The ability to coordinate teams and multiple operational priorities
