The Old Vines Restaurant is seeking a dynamic, guest-centric individual to join the team, as an Assistant Manager. In this role you will work with the restaurant management team to lead, coach, and promote quality and consistency of service, supporting primary brand standards in every interaction. The role involves supervising daily floor activities, fostering a positive and energetic work environment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is integral to the successful operation of the restaurant and requires that the right candidate also be knowledgeable in the administrative side of running a successful food and beverage establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service standards.
  • Your passion for wine pairings shines through in every detail, as you craft the ultimate Okanagan culinary wine experience.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through training, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork and professionalism.
  • Manage beverage and food inventory systems to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Support event coordination and ensure seamless execution of private dining experiences.Act as the intermediate or level 2 first aid attendant

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Serving It Right & Food Safe Level 1 certification
  • 2–3 years of restaurant supervisory or management experience, preferably in fine dining
  • 2 years of operational experience with a strong understanding of beverage inventory systems and controls
  • 1–2 years of event coordination experience (an asset)
  • WSET Level 2 minimum, Level 3 or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours
