Open from lunch through to dinner, Soluna dining and bar is the perfect local spot for family get-togethers, relaxed meals, and catch ups over drinks. The approachable food menu offers a great mix of Los Angeles-inspired snacks, seafood, and grill-style mains. The large dining space spans inside and out, with a separate lounge and bar area, making Soluna a high-volume, social hub and a new fixture of North Sydney dining.
Soluna is part of AURA by Aqualand, located on Walker Street near the new Victoria Cross Metro Station is an iconic new address and symbol of North Sydney’s sophisticated future, setting a new precedent for luxury harbourside living.
Destined to be Sydney’s newest inner-city neighbourhood, we are excited to be an important part of ensuring North Sydney becomes a great food destination. Etymon is developing a multi-level lifestyle hospitality offering for residents and the local community alike. An artful mix of carefully curated venues including eateries and retail which are collectively designed to be a beacon for visitors and a playground for residents.
Additional venues will be GENZO, a modern Japanese restaurant, Sol Bread & Wine a combined bakery, cafe and wine bar, which will transform from casual dining throughout the day to a sophisticated wine bar by night, and a UNA - Purveyor of Fine Foods - a providore selling good crafted by our talented culinary teams.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting an Assistant Venue Manager to take carriage of the people experience of our guests and team for our brand new, large-format, LA inspired all-day-diner, Soluna.
Specifically, we are looking for a well-rounded manager who engages their team to put the guest experience at the forefront and ensures a killer vibe, every single service.
Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will support with the management of the financial performance of the venue, uphold compliance as it relates to Health, Safety and Environment, and the Liquor License. You will be a jack of all trades, wearing many hats, bouncing ideas off your venue and the precinct heads of department.

The Role

  • Support the Venue Manager in the management of the venue in terms of people, product and performance.
  • A people leader - both from a guest and team perspective; you bring the fun and the passion.
  • Craft the guest experience to position the venue at the forefront of guests minds keeping them coming back.
  • Mentor and support the Front of House team to deliver a high-quality execution of service including recruitment, onboarding and training.
  • Manage the floor plan to maximise service periods in collaboration with Reservations and Events and the venue staff.
  • Work with the Head Chef and Reservations and Events on the planning and execution of menus for a la carte and event bookings.
  • Deliver consistent service that is focused on excellence, with a passion for the product.
  • Have a financial focus including rostering to labour costings and stock control
  • Support the strategy around growing the community of locals and regulars within and around the business
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environment policies, the Workplace Risk Management Plan and Liquor Licensing.
