Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As part of our Mississippi Food and Beverage team your job as an Assistant Restaurant Manager is to run outlets, continuously making the effort to coach and develop the Restaurant Team providing the highest level of service in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standards

  • You will be reporting to the Restaurant Manager
  • You will be expected to work on a 12/4 rotation (12 weeks on board and 4 weeks off on vacation). Please note that rotation lenghts vary based on staffing and operational needs onboard Viking Mississippi

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  • Plan, schedule, and assign staff to relevant stations, assisting the Restaurant Manager with daily menu presentations and FandB events and regularly inspect mise-en-place
  • Greet guests and ensure high level service is provided, manage reservations and seating, and communicate allergies and special needs
  • Ensure efficient communication with Executive Chef, Galley Team, and Bar Team and conduct monthly inventory and durable orders
  • Lead and support a multi-cultural team, maintain grooming and PPE standards, and uphold company property protection
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, minimize equipment loss/damage, and maintain cleanliness standards
  • Become knowledgeable about itinerary-related activities and positively contribute to Restaurant KPI goals, manage the Restaurant Pest Management Logs, and monitor the Time and Attendance System
  • Always uphold impeccable grooming standards by complying with Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards
  • Demonstrate outstanding flexibility: able to work at various times of the day, under pressure and always reflect a positive can-do attitude and the best image of Viking
  • You will be expected to consistently arrive on time and be prepared for work
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at leaders’ discretion based on operational needs
