Provide prompt, dependable, high quality, vehicle sales to customers by using current proactive feature, benefit and closing sales techniques while providing supervision to a team of Motorcycle Sales Associates. Key Results Areas Sales Department Operations Business Office Operations Supervisory Customer Service Major Duties and Responsibilities 1) Sales Department Operations Assist the Sales Manager in reaching established sales goals for both new and pre-owned motorcycles. Ensure sales department achieves acceptable levels of profit margin and gross profit. Ensure customers are properly qualified for needs, wants, and ability to buy. Oversee the sales floor on a daily basis ensuring Motorcycle Sales Associates follow appropriate sales process and greet customers in a timely manner. Use floor time effectively to meet customer needs, solicit sales of all products, and coach and train the Motorcycle Sales Associates. Ensure Motorcycle Sales Associates are motivated, and available when needed. Present terms and conditions of the sale to customers on the showroom floor and handle any objections with a focus on “Closing” deals. Oversee sales, trade-ins, and delivery of all new and used vehicles. Be efficient with all phases of the computer system required for the sales department. Ensure all sales procedures are being followed. Ensure timely and proper completion of all sales related paperwork. Also check all paperwork for correct information. Ensure that the showroom is maintained with a variety of vehicles with different accessories and paint schemes, which appeal to all customers.. Collaboratively, with the Sales Manager, manage new and pre-owned vehicle inventory list. Ensure all vehicles are updated with the most current information and pricing. Ensure that the motorcycles on the sales floor are clean and the showroom is in good order. 2) Business Office Operations Assist the Sales Manager in reaching established goals. Cross-sell parts, accessories, general merchandise and business office products to customers. Close deals in the Business Office when needed. 3) Supervisory Coach and train Motorcycle Sales Associates to use consistent and current sales methodologies in order for them to accomplish their goals. Meet with Motorcycle Sales Associates on a daily basis to review previous day’s customers and pending deals. Complete all necessary paperwork on Motorcycle Sales Associates as it relates to everyday job performance and coaching feedback. Inspect the CRM System daily to ensure customers are logged in properly. Establish weekly, monthly, and yearly goals for each Motorcycle Sales Associates and monitor results. Enforce all policies and procedures for sales department. Monitor and ensure that Motorcycle Sales Associates performance is at an acceptable level. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees. Forward records of all disciplinary actions and letters of comendation to appropriate personnel for placement in personnel files. Continuously provide training for Motorcycle Sales Associates (one on ones; seminars; workshops; sales schools, etc.). Maintain performance reports on Motorcycle Sales Associates. Attend training sessions to keep current with sales department issues. Ensure a 100% turnover ratio to the Business Office. Assist the Sales Manager in the development and implementation of promotional campaigns in conjunction with other departments. Assist the Sales Manager in the development of weekly, monthly and annual objectives for the department. Assist Sales Manager with Performance Reviews for your specific team. 4) Customer Service Provide prompt, dependable, high quality, vehicle sales to customers by using current pro-active feature, benefit sales techniques. Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner. Handle telephone transactions quickly, and courteously. Ensure all customers receive fair and consistent treatment. Develop and ensure use of a common and consistent quotation methodology for vehicle sales, trade-ins and purchases. Ensure pre-delivery inspection and vehicle delivery policies and procedures are followed. Ensure the delivery of any new or used motorcycle is an “Experience” that will endear customer to the dealership. Demonstrate commitment to the dealership’s philosophy of quality service to all customers and acts as a role model to other dealership employees. Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, and demonstrate our commitment to “Make Things Right”, at the right time, for the right reason. 5) Other Duties As Assigned Commitments Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously, and with dignity. Model superior customer service behavior for all sales personnel by maintaining positive relationships with customers, employees GM and owner(s). Foster and enthusiastic, proactive, motivated sales team. Remain current with all sales department training available by reviewing HDU, ProSell & P.A.C.E. courses and attending seminars, workshops, and other related training programs. Be prompt and available for flexible scheduling. Be honest and fair in all business dealings. Growing the sales business, vehicles and profit. Focus on quality. Requirements Qualifications & Job Requirements Passion for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Must have a current motorcycle license or the desire to get one. At least 1 year experience within the sales department of a motor vehicle dealership or proven track record of success in “Closing” deals in a vehicle sales department. Prefer knowledge and experience with sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them. Physical Demands The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Often requires the ability to balance and push an 900 lb. motorcycle. Working Conditions Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle service department. Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
