Description

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Diploma holder preferably in Electronic / Mechanical / Marine Engineering with 5 years of related working experiences in the marine industry.
  • Working experiences, preferably in sales, business development or customer service.
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001, ISO 450001 and relevant industrial statutory requirements will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the marine industry.
  • Good knowledge of the market, including trends, products and competitors.
  • Good technical and system knowledge in navigation and communication system.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key accounts.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to identify market opportunities and drive sales growth.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Willingness to travel where required.

Responsibilities

Market Segment: Newbuild & Deepsea (Ship owners, Consultant, Shipyards, System Integrator, Ship Managers)

  • Daily tasks include preparation of sales quotations, sales follow-up, sales reports, cold callings, customer visits.
  • Identify key customers and establish strong relationships with key personnels.
  • Understand the unique requirements of each customer.
  • Understanding the specific vessel technical specification to provide a customized equipment system solution.
  • Understand the unique requirements of each customer to create customer-specific action plans.
  • Understanding the specific vessel technical specification to provide a customized equipment system solution.
  • To collaborate with the project team, service, parts sales and survey team where applicable to offer total solution to customer.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for these customers or key accounts, ensuring good customer service & support. Addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
  • Stay updated with industry news and regulations.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows and conferences to network and generate leads.
  • Proactively engagement with customers to build strong relationships and understand their evolving needs.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • To handle & process inquiries and customer feedback, etc. together with the sales, proposal and project team.
  • Supported by the proposal team, prepare the budgets associated with proposals and / or contract tender.
  • Negotiate and close sales with customers to ensure smooth order processing.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell of products with other non-Furuno equipment.
  • Monitor sales performance against targets and analyse variances to achieve the target.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports on sales achievements, market insights, highlighting trends, opportunities and challenges.
  • Participate in the implementation & execution of all sales & marketing activities such as advertising, promotional works and exhibitions.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments in the company to ensure smooth sales related activity execution and to resolve any issue when arises for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain good partnership with non-Furuno equipment makers and dealers.
  • To assist in resolving payment issues with customers where necessary.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by Head of Sales.

Compliance

  • Comply with all legal, company and health & safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all solutions provided to customers are in accordance to the relevant statutory, Classification Society requirements.
