Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for seeking and developing new business opportunities and securing renewal of existing contracts. You are expected to develop strong customer relationships and grow the sales and brands of assisgned brands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for driving business growth and develop a network of contacts to attract new clients, research new market opportunities and oversee growth projects, making sales projections and forecasting revenue, in line with projected income.
  • Responsible to secure new business and maintain repeat customers, potential customers to sell all RTE/RTH’s products and other future food products.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Identify and engage with potential partners, relevant authorities, industry stakeholders and key decision makers to deliver on new business opportunities
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Monitors competition by gathering market intelligence and trends, and recommending changes in positioning, services, and pricing strategies
  • Cultivate, engage and manage existing customer accounts to secure contract renewals
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
  • Prepare sales contracts and follow up on contract by engaging clients by ascertaining the customer’s requirements
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  • Liaise with the finance team, sales and logistics departments as appropriate
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
