We are looking for a proactive Assistant SENCO to help deliver outstanding SEND provision and support every student to succeed.

  • Work with staff, families and external agencies to improve outcomes.

Job Title: Assistant SENCo

Location: Wellingborough

Salary: Grade 5, Scale Point 12-17

Start Date: October 2026

Contract Type: Maternity cover, approximately October 2026 to November 2027

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours, 39 weeks per annum)

The role:

  • Support the SENDCo in leading and developing high-quality SEND provision across the academy.
  • Monitor the progress of students with SEND and help coordinate effective interventions and support.
  • Work with teaching staff to promote inclusive practice and effective classroom strategies.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals to secure the best outcomes for students.
  • Assist with SEND assessments, provision mapping, access arrangements and record keeping.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive academy culture where all students feel valued and supported.
