DESIGNATION : Assistant Senior / Senior Social Worker or Counsellor (FAM@FSC)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • For Counsellor candidates: Master’s degree in Counselling, recognised by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
  • For Social Worker candidates: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Social Work from a recognised institution; registered (or in the process of registering) with SWAAB.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience working with parents, couples, and families.
  • Strong capability in working with highly conflictual families, including managing risk situations involving family violence, child abuse, or suicide.
  • Skilled in both individual and groupwork, with the ability to design and facilitate therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and case management skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with professionals within and beyond the agency.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with readiness to take on a supervisory role when required.
  • Strong organisational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to compile and analyse data for reporting and programme evaluation.
  • Fluent in an additional language (Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) will be an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work on Saturdays and occasional weekday evenings.
  • Commitment to upholding professional ethics, confidentiality, and high standards of practice.
Responsibilities

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior counsellors and social workers.
  • Design and conduct training programmes.
  • Deliver direct counselling services to individuals, couples, families, and children.
  • Support divorced or divorcing parents in resolving co-parenting disputes.
  • Facilitate supervised visitation sessions for children and parents in high-conflict divorce situations.
  • Plan and facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic group programmes for parents and children.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and programme statistics in line with professional practice standards and service models.
  • Prepare professional reports for court-mandated cases where required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure holistic support for clients.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned to support the agency’s mission.
