Assistant Service Manager - Crewe - £35,000 - £45,000 OTE
Location: Crewe, South Cheshire
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum OTE (based on experience)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) + occasional weekend work
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Service Manager to join a well-established and reputable multi brand business in Crewe, South Cheshire. This role is ideal for an experienced professional in the automotive industry, with a passion for delivering exceptional service and supporting a dynamic team.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in a similar managerial role within the automotive industry, or as an experienced technician ready to step into management.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers, technicians, and colleagues.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of motor industry and the seasonal pressures of the industry.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Positive, motivated, and team-oriented approach.
  • Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities
  • Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day operations of the service department, including managing bookings and workshop activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring timely updates.
  • Assist in driving revenue growth through effective upselling and customer retention strategies.
  • Monitor and maintain Work In Progress (WIP) at manageable levels.
  • Identify and implement improvements to aftersales processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to optimize departmental performance.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to ensure availability and efficient time management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Oversee service department administration and processes.
  • Mentor and support technicians, particularly apprentices and trainees, to enhance their skills and knowledge.
