Safety Sensitive _____________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary Assists the Surveillance Shift Supervisor with supervision and coordination of all surveillance activities during an assigned shift.  Essential Job Duties 1. Conducts continuous surveillance of all areas of the casino via CCTV system as directed by the Surveillance Director and in compliance with the Gaming Commission, departmental, and company regulations.  2. Assumes authority over emergency surveillance situations until such time that the Director may arrive to provide further instructions.  3. Provides guidance to the observers during an assigned shift.  4. Makes recommendations to Surveillance Management, based on observations made during Surveillance activity, concerning changes in the policies and procedures of other departments with the protection of company assets in mind.  5. Supports other managers and executives with assistance and information relating to the protection of assets in their respective departs, as well as fellow observers in the performance of their duties.  6. Maintains a professional relationship with the Gaming Commission and its agents.  7. Maintains and augments skills through review and self-study.  8. Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.  9. Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.  10. Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.  11. Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.  12. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.  Supplemental Job Duties  1. Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.  2. Must have excellent attendance.  3. Performs assigned duties in an accurate and efficient manner.  4. Provides guidance to less experienced Surveillance Employees as instructed by Surveillance Director.  5. Must be computer literate to perform managerial daily tasks.  6. Attends all required meetings and training sessions.  7. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a team player.  8. Performs other job related duties as assigned.  Supervisory Responsibilities  This position will have the authority to; make decisions necessary for carrying out the above listed job duties, make recommendations to; hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling and invoke disciplinary action. This position may have other supervisory authority assigned as necessary through management. This position directly supervises, in the absence of or when directed by the Shift Supervisor or Director, the Surveillance Observer and during the absence of the Video Technician Manager, the Video Technician during an assigned shift.  Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to work in a confined area. Work is typically in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke. Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds. Requires frequent use of hands, arms, wrists and fingers near vision associated with use of video surveillance equipment. Requires extended periods of sitting and viewing video monitors. In-town and out-of-town travel will be required. Must be confidential.  Required departmental skills to learn  * Surveillance Department Policies and Procedures.  * Learn the Gaming Floor and memorize cameras to competently observe the Gaming floor, food venues, Hotel, Entertainment areas, Parking lots, and back of the house.  * Competently use our operating Surveillance systems – Network Client and Milestone – Viewing, reviewing, retrieving/saving footage.  * Learn all and keep up with changing Casino Departments policies and procedures.  * MICS (Minimum Internal Control Standards).  * Sac and Fox Gaming Regulations.  * All mandatory HR training including Title 31, Alcohol Awareness, and any other training required.  * Become efficient in all Live Games, new games added, and complete yearly refresher classes.  * Facial recognition (Remember faces and names-company issued bans & employee databases).  * Familiarize with Department programs – Diagnostic monitor, Omni-view, Quickets, Super Playmate, Pitwatch Surv-Monitor. Red Hand database, Id scanners, Windows, Excel.  * Surveillance department test (90 day test).  * Advantage Play and Basic Strategy training (additional testing as requested by Supervisor).  * Adequately Investigate/Review/Observe/Report –DSLs & DRSs (keeping Logs and writing Reports).  Minimum Job Qualifications Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Requires high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have two (2) years of casino surveillance experience. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.  Skills/Abilities: Must be flexible with working hours and days off., as sometimes job requires covering other shifts other than your regular schedule. Must be able to work independently without supervision. Must be able to detect any schemes or cheating aimed at the company or its guests. Must be proficient in basic math skills and mental computations. Must possess good skills, both verbal and written. Must possess good computer skills. Must display a level of maturity commensurate with the responsibility of the position. Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements.  Preference: Members of the Meskwaki Nation and other Native American Tribes who are qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will be given preference in accordance to established procedures.  Restrictions This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on or off duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments.
