We’re currently looking for a full-time Assistant Site Superintendent to grow our construction team on our multi-family, wood-frame project currently under construction in Calgary, AB. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years in a construction site leadership role
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings
  • Journeyman Carpenter an asset
  • 2+ years of carpentry experience or similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Possess general understanding of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
  • Have good physical conditioning and stamina
  • Standard First Aid Level C an asset
  • Ticketed on skid steer, rough terrain forklift, boom lifts, and/or excavator would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Satisfactory credit and criminal record check.
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, an Assistant Site Superintendent with Highstreet is responsible for: (i) safety, (ii) trade management and material organization, (iii) quality, (iv) cleanliness, and (v) removal of roadblocks to facilitate project schedule.

The day-to-day tasks would include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage construction tasks in accordance with priorities and goals
  • Direct, manage, and mentor Equipment Operators, Carpenters, and Site Dynamos (Labourers)
  • On-site assessment prior to new scopes commencing work to ensure that the job is ready and addressing any concerns
  • Inspecting and measuring completed work
  • Supervision, and coordination of sub-trades, materials and crew members
  • Participate in project closeout inspection process
  • Adhere to relevant safety regulations
  • Manage and guide the use of machinery and equipment
  • Maintain all required reporting / logs as required
  • Any other duties as reasonably assigned
