JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Site Superintendent will overseethe onsite construction process and is directly responsible for overall construction activities within the established design, budget and scheduling guidelines. While ensuring that the Health and Safety of all workers are the top priority, the supervisor will plan, schedule, organize, direct and control all activities on the construction site within the strict quality requirements required in the project documents.

JOB PREREQUISITES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Red Seal Trade, preferably in carpentry with at least 5 years working in trades as a Red Seal
  • 5 years working as a Site Superintendent in commercial, institutional and multi-family construction
  • At least the successful completion of two projects start to finish in multi-family wood frame construction.
  • A master at problem solving, planning, meticulous organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook and Word and Bluebeam
  • A strong demonstratable safety background in with combined education and experience. An NCSO designation is an asset.
  • A post secondary undergraduate diploma or degree is an asset, especially one related to construction management, supervision or operations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
  • Positive attitude and a desire to help others

    Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Manage the day to day construction activities
· Ensure strict adherence to our OHS program
· Create and manage master schedules with input from the Project Team including all subcontractors
· Interpret all disciplines of plans and specifications
· Create 3 and 6 week look ahead schedules
· Manage weekly trades meetings
· Support the Project Manager in reviewing costs against budgets
· Daily job reports and logs
· Ensuring the project quality control is managed
· Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget
· Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
· Monitor and report on project progress
· Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
· Implement safety and quality guidelines
· Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
· Keep track of material stock and orders
· Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
· Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
