Position Summary The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing daily in‑store Starbucks operations, ensuring consistent beverage quality, food safety, customer service excellence, and compliance with Starbucks and company standards. This role helps lead the Starbucks team, supports operational execution, and contributes to sales growth and a positive customer experience. Key Responsibilities Operations & Product Quality * Assist with daily Starbucks operations including beverage preparation, food handling, and service execution * Ensure compliance with Starbucks beverage standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines * Monitor product availability, freshness, ordering, and inventory control * Support execution of promotions, seasonal offerings, and merchandising standards * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Starbucks kiosk and backroom areas Customer Service * Deliver a consistent, friendly, and high‑quality Starbucks customer experience * Address customer questions, concerns, and service issues promptly and professionally * Reinforce Starbucks service standards and customer engagement expectations Team Leadership & Training * Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of Starbucks baristas * Assist with scheduling, break coverage, and daily work assignments * Coach associates on beverage quality, speed of service, and customer interaction * Assume full Starbucks leadership responsibilities in the Starbucks Manager’s absence Sales & Performance * Help drive sales through strong operational execution and customer service * Monitor key performance indicators such as speed of service, waste, and labor efficiency * Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, and customer satisfaction Safety & Compliance * Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards * Enforce proper handling of equipment, ingredients, and temperature controls * Maintain Starbucks brand standards and company policies at all times Qualifications * Previous Starbucks, coffee shop, food service, or retail leadership experience preferred * Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, food safety, and customer service standards * Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate associates * Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills * Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays * Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks Core Competencies * Leadership and team development * Customer experience focus * Attention to detail and quality * Time management and multitasking * Operational execution Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.   *For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
