JOB DESCRIPTION
Hourly Range: $20.00/hour to $23.00/hour, based on qualifications. We offer great retail store hours and our Assistant Store Managers typically work 32-40 hours per week. Retail Assistant Store Managers are responsible to help maintain overall day-to-day storefront operations of the Red Wing Shoe Store, including assisting in overseeing customer experience, managing store personnel, and maintaining storefront operations.
· Promote and support the high-quality Red Wing brand image through professional selling
· Ensure clients are provided the highest level of service, including custom fitting and footwear conditioning
· Maintain an exceptional retail sales culture by recruiting and training Retail Sales Associates; responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and performance management of all Sales Associates
· Other management responsibilities include assisting with: staff scheduling, controlling inventory, assisting with ordering and returns, assisting with account receivable processes, visual merchandising, and sales lead development
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post Secondary 1+ year plus management experience; college/technical training or degree is preferred
· Enjoy meeting, serving and interacting with customers
· Retail footwear and/or wholesale experience is an asset
· Dependability and flexibility with scheduled work shifts
· Understanding of “retail” hours, which include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours
· Effective Written/Verbal Communication skills
· Computer Utilization and POS experience is an asset, strong skills using Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Must pass a criminal record check and provide three work references
· Hands-on knowledge of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, referral / lead generation, and sales techniques
· Demonstrated success with working as part of a team culture where consistently in work attendance, following routines, training, motivating and retaining talent is essential
· Positive energy, enthusiasm and motivated demeanour
· Demonstrated problem solving skills, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
