JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Store Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, supporting the store manager, and ensuring that the store runs smoothly. You will take on responsibilities related to staff development, store operations, marketing/merchandising, inventory management, and personal growth. The Assistant Manager’s role is to step in and effectively manage the store when the store manager is unavailable, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
You’ll be empowered to delegate tasks, train staff, and resolve customer issues, all while maintaining a clean and professional image for the store. Your efforts will directly contribute to the growth of the store and our team.

Responsibilities
  1. Staff Growth and Development
    · Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating staff, with the help of Human Resources, ensuring all team members are capable and empowered to perform their roles effectively.
    · Provide ongoing product knowledge training, keeping staff up to date on new models and features.
    · Lead by example and provide sales training through hands-on interaction, role-playing, and observing customer interactions to provide feedback.
    · Be a resource for staff in using the store’s computer systems, including Evosus, MS Office, and other communication tools.
  2. Store Operations/Administration
    · Handle escalating customer service issues and ensure that customer complaints are resolved in a timey and professional manner.
    · Assist in scheduling barbecue and fireplace pickups, coordinating with the warehouse supervisor and fireplace coordinator as needed.
    · Helping with staff scheduling, handling time-off requests, holidays, and ensuring all personnel-related documentation is filed properly.
    · Ensure that administrative tasks (i.e., warranty forms, product requests, and assembly/delivery forms) are completed accurately and forwarded to the head office.
  3. Marketing & Merchandising
    · Oversee store displays, ensuring they are neat, clean, and aligned with marketing initiatives to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
    · Maintain uniformity across store layouts by ensuring products are displayed in a consistent manner across locations.
    · Ensure pricing and signage is accurate, professional, and up-to-date for all items in the store.
    · Plan for product arrivals and ensure the store layout accommodates new stock efficiently.
  4. Inventory Management
    · Monitor inventory levels, ensuring products are ordered on time from the main warehouse and displayed as soon as they arrive.
    · Maintain an organized warehouse, ensuring that all products and parts are categorized, logged, and free from clutter.
    · Ensure warranty claims are processed promptly and relevant paperwork is completed and filed properly for future reference.
  5. Personal Development
    · Develop into a store leader, capable of managing the business operations in the store manager’s absence.
    · Continuously improve the store’s performance by managing staff performance and ensuring efficient store operations.
    · Expand personal product knowledge, particularly around barbecues and fireplaces, to better support customers and staff.
    · Meet and exceed personal sales targets while focusing on developing a directing role for other sales associates.
