POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Assistant Manager to help oversee daily operations of our will-call store. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient material handling, accurate order fulfillment, and top-tier customer service. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and familiar with warehouse, logistics, upselling and/or industrial supply environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years experience in retail, warehouse, or industrial supply environment
  • Prior supervisory or assistant manager experience preferred
  • Knowledge of metals (steel, aluminum, etc.) a strong plus
  • Experience in a start-up environment a plus
  • Comfortable with basic POS, inventory, or ERP systems
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and work on feet in a warehouse-style setting

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 plus bonus based on experience, skills and performance

Responsibilities
  • Customer Service & Sales:
    o Assist walk-in and will-call customers with orders and inquiries
    o Provide accurate product information (metals, specs, applications, etc.)

o Ensure fast, friendly, and professional service

  • Operations & Inventory:

o Support daily store operations including opening/closing procedures
o Assist with inventory tracking, stock rotation, and restocking materials

o Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area

  • Team Leadership:

o Supervise and train front-line staff in the absence of the Manager
o Assist with scheduling and workload delegation

o Help enforce company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards

  • Order Fulfillment & Logistics:

o Ensure accuracy of pick tickets, packing, and load-outs
o Coordinate with warehouse and shipping teams to streamline will-call pickups

o Assist in receiving, sorting, and staging incoming material

  • Administrative Support:

o Process sales orders, invoices, and returns in the system
o Help maintain reports and logs for inventory, safety, and sales metrics
o Communicate with customers and vendors as needed
