Made By Marcus Hillhurst is looking for experienced leaders to join our team. Our Assistant Store Managers must have exceptional communication and time management skills, be able to work full-time (evenings, weekends, overtime and shift coverage may be required), be familiar with the company, and successfully lead our team by ensuring the Made By Marcus name is held to the standards our customers have come to know and love!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a retail management role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques and customer service principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in training development is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions based on trends.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire others.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Support the Shop Manager (SM) with scheduling tasks, including finalizing schedule drafts by Tuesday EOD, posting schedules by Wednesday EOD, and ensuring coverage based on labor reports, weather forecasts, and staff availability.
  • Review timesheets every Monday, analyze employee metrics, and approve timecards every second Monday for payroll submission.
  • Oversee and support the training of all new employees, ensuring proper documentation and sign-offs.
  • Schedule and participate in monthly one-on-one check-ins with employees to provide feedback and identify growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate employee development by creating and implementing action plans.
  • Assist the SM in conducting working interviews and supporting hiring decisions.
  • Act as a primary contact for interpersonal conflicts, collaborating with the SM to resolve issues.
  • Enforce adherence to health and safety standards, including food safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular store walk-throughs to assess maintenance and cleanliness, addressing issues promptly.
  • Independently manage daily inventory tasks, including counts, ordering, and organizing storage areas.
  • Ensure accurate transaction processing, cash handling, and discrepancy resolution following company policies.
  • Provide coverage during the SM’s days off or unavailability and assist employees in securing shift coverage when necessary.
  • Monitor the completion of daily checklists, including deep cleans and refrigeration logs, ensuring follow-up on recurring issues.
  • Facilitate team-building activities to promote a positive work environment.
