Description ** BARGAIN LANE SOUTH BEND IS LOOKING FOR A DEDICATED LEADER TO ADD TO THEIR LEADERSHIP TEAM ** Job Summary: A motivated and experienced Assistant Retail Manager to support our store's overall operations. In this role, you'll assist with all aspects of daily management, including sales performance, merchandising, inventory control, and most importantly, leading and inspiring our sales team. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for retail, excellent customer service skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Store Opening and Closing: Arrive before store hours to deactivate alarm systems, conduct a safety walkthrough, and ensure all areas are clean and ready for staff and customers. Ensure all customers have exited, activate alarm systems, secure all entrances, and conduct a final safety walkthrough. Sales Leadership: Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement sales goals and strategies. Coach and motivate sales associates to achieve individual and team sales targets. Team Management: Supervise, train, and schedule sales associates. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to develop their skills and knowledge. Foster a positive and productive work environment that prioritizes excellent customer service. Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring a positive shopping experience and ensuring they receive top-notch service. Inventory Oversight: Manage inventory processes including receiving stock, organizing storage, and replenishing sales floor items. Monitor stock levels at the start and end of the day, reporting any discrepancies or issues to the Store Manager. Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with the Store Manager on creating visually appealing and effective floor layouts and product displays that influence customer buying behavior and optimize product presentation. Store Operations: Assist with opening and closing the store, ensuring adherence to all security and operational procedures. Requirements Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred 2+ years of retail experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role Proven ability to drive sales and achieve targets Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Working Conditions: Retail Assistant Store Managers often work on weekends, holidays, and evenings.
