As an Assistant Store Team Leader, you are pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. In this role, you will help drive store performance, build strong relationships in your community, and ensure every neighbor receives knowledgeable, trustworthy, pet-centric service — all while smiling in the face of puppy breath. What You’ll Do Lead by example by delivering exceptional, neighborly service to every customer and their pets Support daily store operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively Partner with the Store Team Leader to analyze sales and implement strategies to improve performance and engagement Create a fun, positive environment for both team members and neighbors Assist in maintaining store standards including cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security Support hiring, onboarding, and staffing to maintain a strong team Coach and develop team members through ongoing feedback and support Promote team engagement by recognizing performance and supporting career growth Build relationships within the community, including partnerships with local organizations and events You May Be a Great Fit If You Are passionate about pets and enjoy working with people Take initiative and can lead or support a team as needed Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented retail environment Are motivated to create a positive, engaging experience for customers and employees Enjoy building relationships within your local community Requirements and Responsibilities 2+ years of experience leading a retail team Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required (high school diploma or GED required) Strong communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to operate store equipment, including forklifts Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 65 pounds Ability to work flexible schedules and maintain reliable transportation Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a drug test What We Value Neighborly service and genuine care for pets and people Teamwork and a positive attitude Accountability and ownership of responsibilities Continuous learning and development Community connection and engagement
