ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent). Our preference is for candidates who possess the qualification, however, we will accept applicants with a validated enrolment and demonstrated capacity to complete the qualification in a timely manner.
  • Relevant qualifications (or demonstrated equivalence) and vocational experience in training delivery areas
  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice or ability to complete quickly.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Learning and Development Officer, Assistant Superintendent you will join a dynamic team, focused on delivering effective operational training programs that support and enable a high-performing and engaged workforce. The team consists of industry experts who assist Departmental staff to reach their full potential through innovation, collaboration, and empowerment.
As a Learning and Development Officer, you will also be responsible for developing core materials for both face to face and online learning programs, ensuring they comply with RTO learning and assessment strategies, while meeting CSNSW outcomes.
The team provides direction on strategies, governance, design, delivery, and quality assurance of professional learning to uplift the capability of Corrective Services NSW workforce.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess the following qualities:

  • Alignment with DCJ Code of Ethical Conduct
  • Demonstrate workplace resilience and integrity
  • Committed to making a positive difference at the front end of the organisation
  • Lead by example in your practice and approach
  • Work effectively in a team environment and actively contribute to a positive, professional workplace culture
  • Operational experience working as a Correctional Officer in a custodial setting
  • Dedication to develop and train staff in a training environment to support ongoing development
  • Possess a current Certificate III in Correctional Practice (CSC30122) or ability to complete in a short time frame
  • High-level of communication and written skills
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity over sensitive information
  • Ability to work autonomously when required, prioritising tasks and workloads
  • Proficient computer literacy skills
  • Willingness to travel for periods throughout NSW to deliver training programs
