Description Role summary An Assistant Superintendent is responsible for working with senior construction leadership to oversee the daily management, coordination, supervision, quality checks, safety, schedule coordination and successful completion of projects. Key responsibilities Assist in managing subcontractors: sequencing, site logistics, and day-to-day coordination. Assist with schedule development and implementation; provide weekly status/updates as directed. Maintain jobsite quality and safety standards through continuous inspection and follow-through. Participate in status meetings with PM/team and trade partners; communicate progress/issues clearly. Identify risks early and escalate with recommended mitigation steps. Support procurement follow-ups and readiness (materials, access, prerequisites). Coordinate with subcontractors to prevent scope gaps, schedule misses, or on-site discrepancies. Support safety talks/meetings and basic compliance items as assigned. Flag design/construction issues that could lead to disputes/claims (with support). Requirements Essential Qualifications Prior construction / skilled trades experience preferred 1 - 3 years as a superintendent or assistant; able to manage project site activities. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Demonstrated experience communicating with multiple stakeholders and resolving field issues with support. Ability to interpret and explain contracts, drawings, specs, and technical information to project participants. Ability to follow process workflows (submittals, RFIs, logs, closeout documentation) with discipline and accuracy. Experience with common construction software. OSHA 30 training and working knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
Responsibilities
