Position Description: Clark Builders is hiring a Assistant Superintendents for several projects in Edmonton. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for supervising trade employees assigned to a particular construction discipline or work areas.
Reporting to: Superintendent
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning work schedule(s) and determining and maintaining workforce requirements, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Clark Builders safety policies and procedures
- Identify hazards and correct any unsafe conditions
- Lead QA/QC checks and inspections
- Lead site specific orientations and tailgate meetings
- Draft and submit RFI’s
- Assume control of the site if the Superintendent is off site
- Other duties as required
- Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner
- Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures
Skills and Knowledge:
- The ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and communicate this information to others
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
- Conflict resolution
- The capability to work outside in extreme weather conditions depending on the season
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson trade certification
- 8+ years of construction experience
- Valid first aid certificate an asset
- Valid Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset
