Description Boar's Head Resort is now accepting applications for seasonal Assistant Swim Team Coaches to join our Sports Club team! As an Assistant Coach, you will be responsible for motivating children ages 5-17 years of age to participate in swim practice and compete on the Swim Team. Assist in planning practice drills. Assist in preparing swim meet line-up. Assist in preparing and keeping swimmer records. Help to maintain meet entries, swimmer time boards and a list of swimmers who miss each meet. Assist in preparing and posting motivational games and challenges on the Swim Team bulletin board. Help to prepare swimmers and staff for meets. Teach swim classes on an as-needed basis. Help new parents at meets by answering questions about what to expect. Execute goals for the Swim Team as determined by The Sports Club and Head Swim Team Coach. Requirements Essential General knowledge of swimming skills and competition. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with children of all ages. Ability to attend all practices, meets and functions. Strong organizational skills. Ability to help motivate participants. Desirable: Strong background in competitive swimming. Strong computer skills. Previous experience as a swimming coach/teacher. Training in water safety (ie. Lifeguard, Basic Water Rescue, etc.)
Responsibilities
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for motivating children aged 5-17 to participate in swim practice and competition, assisting the Head Coach with planning drills, preparing meet line-ups, and maintaining swimmer records. This role also involves teaching swim classes as needed and preparing staff and swimmers for meets.
