About the role Ferndale Project is our community hub and the experimental arm of the company - a place where new ideas, flavors, and experiences come to life. The Assistant Taproom Manager plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the taproom, working closely with the front-of-house team to deliver a welcoming, high-quality experience for every guest. From maintaining smooth service during busy shifts to fostering a strong team environment, this role is at the heart of what makes the Ferndale Project special. This is a tipped position and does not include direct managerial responsibilities. What you'll do Create memorable moments by engaging guests, answering questions, and offering warm, genuine service. Take ownership of guest-facing areas, including the taproom and patio, to ensure they're clean, welcoming, and on-brand. Support the Taproom Manager with operational tasks such as cash handling, inventory, and enforcing SOPs. Lead by example: set up the space for AM shifts and ensure closing duties are completed properly. Foster a positive team environment by offering real-time feedback and promoting a culture of support. Communicate clearly and consistently via email, text, and group channels. Adhere to all health, safety, and alcohol service standards. Qualifications Open availability, including weekends and ability to work morning or evening shifts. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Confidence in using resources to make smart, in-the-moment decisions. Ability to be on your feet for long periods and comfortably lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. Great communication skills and a genuine passion for hospitality and teamwork.
