Description Lake Area Discovery Center is a Christian-based, NAEYC-accredited, non-profit early childhood program that partners with churches and schools to provide high-quality care and education for young children. Hiring a PreK Assistant or the Lake Area Discovery Center at Faith Lutheran in Forest Lake, MN . The position is year-round, Monday through Friday. * 8:00-4:30 PM: Working with the teaching team leads, we end the day with mixed-age preschool and toddlers. $20.00-$24.00/hour, depending on education, experience, and DHS Licensing qualifications. The Lake Area Discovery Center has served pre-kindergarten students ages 6 weeks to 5 years in the White Bear Lake/Forest Lake/Stillwater Community for the past 25 years. Partnering with the ministry and education programs at St. Paul's and the Forest Lake/Wyoming Communities, LADC provides rich education and faith-formation experiences. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework preferred; willingness to pursue additional education required for advancement Previous experience working with young children preferred Experience in a classroom, childcare center, church education program, or similar setting beneficial Ability to assist with supervising children throughout the day, including activities, playtime, transitions, meals, and snacks Ability to support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities Ability to assist with classroom management and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, coworkers, and families Patient, positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset Ability to follow program philosophy and align with Lake Area Discovery Center’s mission and values CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire Willingness to complete required health and safety training for child care professionals Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check Ability to actively engage with young children, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 40 pounds
