For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness.
Our Early Childhood Development Centers provide free Early Head Start and Head Start services to low-income families. Head Start provides services to children age 3 to 5 years old. Through the Montessori approach, the center ensures children are ready for school by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, language-literacy and physical development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a 30 college credits required.
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or 60 credits including 24 credits in Education preferred; or BA or Bachelors degree with 24 credits in education preferred.
  • CDA preferred.
  • 2 years of teaching experience in a preschool classroom preferred.
  • If not already obtained CDA or 24 credits in Education or Early Childhood Education, must commit to complete CDC training program within the first year of hire.
  • Montessori trained or must commit to enroll in the Agency’s Montessori training program within the first year of hire and complete the training as required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English; Russian/English; Chinese/English; Korean/English; English/Creole speaking preferred.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed.
