Description Hiring Assistant Teachers for Lake Area Discovery Center. Positions are Part-Time, Year-Round, with 64 hours of PTO (prorated), eight paid Holidays, and paid training and continuing education. Hourly Rate of $18.00-$22.00/hour, depending on education and experience. Hours for this position are approximately 7AM -2:30PM. The Lake Area Discovery Center serves children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as pre-kindergarten students. Partnering with ministry and education programs, LADC offers rich educational and faith formation experiences. Join a team of dedicated, early-childhood professionals at this NAEYC-accredited, 4-Star Parent Aware high-quality program. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework preferred; willingness to pursue additional education required for advancement Previous experience working with young children preferred Experience in a classroom, childcare center, church education program, or similar setting beneficial Ability to assist with supervising children throughout the day, including activities, playtime, transitions, meals, and snacks Ability to support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities Ability to assist with classroom management and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, coworkers, and families Patient, positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset Ability to follow program philosophy and align with Lake Area Discovery Center’s mission and values CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire Willingness to complete required health and safety training for child care professionals Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check Ability to actively engage with young children, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 40 pounds
