ASSISTANT PRESCHOOL TEACHER Hometown Health Center Childcare Program Hometown Health Center is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Preschool Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate preschool classroom. This role works cooperatively with the Lead Teacher to meet the daily needs of children while maintaining a positive, professional classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with implementing age-appropriate curriculum * Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment * Anticipate and respond to children’s individual needs * Communicate clearly and professionally with the Lead Teacher * Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members * Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations * Participate in required trainings, meetings, and DHHS requirements Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years old * High school diploma or equivalent required (or currently enrolled) * CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain * Must pass DHHS background checks * Registered with Maine Roads to Quality or willing to become registered Preferred: * Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Join a supportive childcare team committed to providing high-quality early learning experiences in a collaborative and respectful environment.
