Working as part of a team you will provide support for the class teacher and assist with the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Booker Park School is a primary special school. With 243 pupils on roll, Booker Park caters for primary aged children with a broad diversity of complex needs including profound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties. Almost half of the pupils have an additional diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition. Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Assistant Teacher the successful candidate will work with the class teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson/work plans as appropriate. You will assist with the development and implementation of individual education and personal care plans, attending to personal hygiene needs and administering medicines. You will be required to lead whole classes during the teacher’s non-contact time and also during the short-term absence of the teacher. Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role with a brand new continued professional development programme allowing every staff member opportunities to develop and flourish.
