Description

Highly skilled and responsible work requiring autonomy, initiative and judgment, and the maintenance of confidential and sensitive information. The Office Assistant position directly supports the Associate Dean for Teacher Education and the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Advancement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in a related field from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

Committee on Student Standing - receive petitions and prepare letters for review by the AD for Teacher Education and/or committee, prepare and send response letters to petitioners.
Collaborate with Student Success Coaches or others depending on request of petition.
Assists in all aspects of planning for the SoE commencement ceremonies; working with Campus Events & Services and others in order to plan, prepare and execute the events.
Assists two Associate Deans with all matters including appointment calendars, travel arrangements as needed, coordinate & order food for meetings and special initiatives such as seminars and graduate student events, update information and documents for upload to website, prepare/edit documents prepared by others, oversee student workers.
Supports the Assistant Dean for Educational Partnerships & Professional Practice as needed to prepare for freshman events and other activities throughout the school year. This includes ordering food, reserving rooms, and other duties as needed.
Maintains School of Ed committees information including managing secure, anonymous nominations and elections for School of Education (SoE) committee positions as well as for SoE representatives to University committee positions as required and through the direction of AD of Research and Faculty Advancement. Keep listings of committee members current for SoE website.
Assists with special events such as Homecoming, Orientation, and other events throughout the year as needed.
General duties - coordinate faculty searches, assist with faculty onboarding, collect course syllabi, order and maintain SoE promo items as needed for the year and special events, maintain SoE calendar, room reservations, catering orders, submit facilities requests, office equipment maintenance requests, and other duties as needed.
