Description

Baosteel Singapore Pte Ltd (Baosteel) is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Assistant to General Manager to support the strategic growth of our steel business, with a key focus on Southeast and South Asian markets. The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry expertise, international exposure, and a proven leadership track record in sales or departmental management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in large-scale steel enterprises.
  • At least 3 years of overseas working experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in departmental or marketing management roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of steel product manufacturing processes and applications.
  • Familiarity with the full product portfolio and market position of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the geopolitical and trade environments in Southeast and South Asia.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage complex challenges independently.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing the company’s marketing, budgeting, planning, and overall business operations.
  • Lead the promotion and sales of Baosteel’s product lines in the South Asian market, including cold-rolled steel, silicon steel, hot-rolled steel, automotive sheets, heavy plates, and long products.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of steel product applications to identify and engage key customer segments aligned with Baosteel’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement localized marketing strategies based on trade policies and market dynamics in Southeast and South Asia.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure major steel orders through strategic planning, technical evaluation, and coordinated execution.
  • Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to proactively resolve operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of global steel industry trends, technologies, and market developments.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks and assignments as directed by senior management.
