JOB SUMMARY
The assistant to the Assistant Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Executive Director (AVP/ED) of Undergraduate Admissions serves as an administrative partner providing executive-level support in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment. This position is integral to operations, assisting with calendar and meeting preparation, project management, travel coordination and expense reconciliation, and responding to emails on the AVP/ED’s behalf. The assistant serves as a liaison to campus units, independently communicates and partners with internal and external constituents such as U-M schools and colleges, Government Relations, the President’s Office, and others on admissions-related matters.
As the chief undergraduate admissions officer, the AVP/ED is U-M’s primary admissions representative throughout the state, nation, and world on undergraduate admissions matters.
Success in this role requires a high level of adaptability, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the AVP/ED. This position will work onsite (in the office) Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to ensure adequate support.

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) manages U-M’s enrollment function to efficiently optimize students’ experiences throughout their engagement, from prospect to alumni. The division collaborates with campus partners, faculty, and staff in support of the university’s mission.
OEM comprises a dedicated team of more than 200 full-time staff members and up to 400 additional student and temporary staff and is structured in five operational units - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of New Student Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and OEM Administration. OEM strives to provide excellence in access and support to inspiring learners who will challenge the present and enrich the future.
