MISSION STATEMENT

SouthSide Elementary Charter School empowers a diverse community of Providence
students from kindergarten through fifth grade with a strong foundation for college
readiness and community leadership. Through an extended school day and year, our
rigorous curriculum fosters literacy, logical thinking, problem-solving, and civic
engagement.
Position Overview
The Assistant to the Business Manager plays a vital role in supporting the financial,
operational, and administrative functions of the school. This position ensures smooth day-
to-day operations and contributes to the overall efficiency and compliance of the
organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
 Monitor expenditures and assist with processing invoices and purchase orders
 Support monthly credit card and bank reconciliations
 Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including check writing and bank deposits
Payroll and Benefits
 Support payroll processing and employee benefits administration
 Track employee time and attendance
 Assist with bi-weekly pension and retirement payment submissions
Purchasing and Inventory
 Assist with procurement of goods and services
 Manage inventory and asset tracking
Personnel Management
 Support onboarding of new staff
 Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation
Office Management
 Maintain an organized and efficient office environment
 Manage office supplies and provide general administrative support
Facility Management
 Assist with facility maintenance, repairs, and safety procedures
Communication
 Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, families, and other stakeholders
Program Support
 Assist with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable
Program
 Prepare required reports and track weekly meals for monthly reimbursement requests
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 Understanding of accounting principles and practices
 Familiarity with school operations and regulatory requirements
 Proficiency in financial software and office applications
 Strong organizational and time management skills
 Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
 Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
 High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
 Minimum of 2 years of experience in school administration or management roles
preferred
 Bilingual proficiency highly desirable
 Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask effectively
 Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
 Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office software
 Must successfully pass a fingerprint-based background check
Compensation
 Part-Time Position (20 hours per week)
 Hourly Rate: $20-$25, based on experience
 Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 12:00pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
