We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Transport Manager to join our Team in Bothwell. This is a full-time position working dayshift, Monday to Friday (with a degree of flexibility).
About the Role (Assistant Transport Manager);
· Support/Cover the Transport Manager in the daily running of the Transport operation by completing all administrative and legislative tasks required to maintain a Safe, Legal and Efficient performance of the operation.
· Support Company and on-site SHEQ and Compliance activities.
· Assist in managing Legal Compliance in relation to Drivers (Rules & Regulations including WTD) and Vehicle Maintenance.
· Promote positive Driver Behaviour, utilising; 1:1 Coaching & Mentoring, Telematics, Training, Briefings, etc.
· Involvement in the Recruitment, Coaching/Training and Disciplinary proceedings.
· Manage our Sickness/Absence process.
· Assist in Incident Investigations.
· Liaise with all relevant stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
· Be involved in various initiatives.
Requirements;
· Experience within a busy Transport environment.
· Thorough understanding of Drivers Rules & Regulations, including WTD. And the managing thereof.
· Hard-working individual with the ability to work alone and as a team, effectively.
· Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
· Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks as required.
· Good computer skills (MS Office) are critical to this role.
· Transport Manager CPC qualification (DESIRABLE)
· Class 1 or Class2 Licence is preferable. Maximum 6 penalty points.
