The incumbent will oversee end-to-end reporting, support business decision-making, and lead a team to deliver accurate and timely financial insights. What You’ll Do: Financial Reporting & Closing Oversee and manage month-end closing activities in accordance with Group timelines Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial and accounting records through robust controls and verification processes Prepare monthly management accounts in line with business and management requirements Perform detailed analysis of revenue, operating expenditure (OPEX), and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for management review Statutory Reporting & Compliance Act as the key liaison for external audit and statutory reporting processes Ensure compliance with MFRS and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements Oversee balance sheet integrity across entities within the Radio Group Undertake periodic asset impairment assessments and sensitivity analysis Prepare statutory reporting packs, including submissions to relevant authorities (e.g. Department of Statistics) Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process aligned with business objectives and 3-year business plans Prepare monthly forecasts, including variance analysis and insights Monitor production cost budgets and utilisation Cost Allocation & Tax Ensure accurate cross-charging and cost allocation within the Radio group in line with transfer pricing requirements Collaborate with Corporate Tax on tax computation, filing, and payments Analysis & Business Partnering Analyse revenue trends using market data, surveys, and industry indicators Partner with business units to understand operational drivers and financial impact Support evaluation of business initiatives, investments, and cost optimisation opportunities Leadership & Stakeholder Management Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team Strengthen business unit segmental reporting Prepare reports and presentation materials for Board and Senior Leadership Team (monthly, quarterly, annually) Manage dividend declaration processes and documentation Liaise effectively with stakeholders across the Astro Group Continuous Improvement & Projects Drive process improvements in reporting, systems, and operational efficiency Support or lead ad hoc projects as assigned by HOD and Director of Astro Audio REQUIREMENTS: Who You Are: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including audit experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax matters Experience in complex GL structures, cost allocation, and multi-entity environments Hands-on experience with accounting systems (SAP experience is an advantage) Strong understanding of end-to-end finance operations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad (“Astro”) is Malaysia’s leading content and consumer company, serving 75% of Malaysian households across our TV, radio, digital and commerce platforms.
