SMBC focus on Sales & Trading business in APAC, promoting sustainable growth of SMFG in growing markets in this region. It is important to develop trading capabilities and expand the investor’s business. The position will be responsible for managing the trading activities and expand investor clients.
The coverage area for this position extends not only Singapore but also to Bangkok(Thailand), Sydney(Australia), Mumbai and New Delhi(India), Taipei(Taiwan), Seoul(South Korea) and Malaysia. As considering particularity in market-related products such as FX and Rates derivatives, expertise knowledge and experience on those shall be necessary. This position also shall require communication, discussion and reporting in English and Japanese.

• To control the market risk appropriately and maximize the performance
• To develop trading capabirities in order to increase customer transactions
• To expand investor business in order to diversify our revenue sources
• To lead multiple projects in collaboration with related departments for the above purpose
• To comply with all the bank’s rules and regularoty compliance requirements
• To support APAC branches to improve quality and practice for trading

Job Requirements

• Bachelor or more degree in Finance, Economics, Law or a related field
• 3 + years of experience in FX or Rates derivative trading (major currencies)
• 3+ years of experience in FX or Rates derivative trading (emerging currencies)
• Excellent communication skills in order to enhance the sense of unity.
• Proficiency in Japanese language is preferred for regular communication with the head office in Japan as the reports and presentation will need to in Japanese.
