Description
The Financial Analytics team plays a central role in steering the company's financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. You will be performing analyses financial and business trends, beyond reporting the "what" and interpret the "why" behind financial movements, identifying emerging risks and opportunities for management actions to drive performance against its financial and organisational targets. Analyse profitability of Great Eastern Group and its subsidiaries on a regular basis, deliver business value by providing insights and identifying levers to drive financial performance. Effectively communicate findings to relevant stakeholders across various forums to support data-driven discussions and facilitate timely, strategic decisions. Assist in driving regional financial analysis, forecasting and performance management, ensuring consistency, comparability and alignment across Great Eastern Group and its subsidiaries, while consolidating insights into clear narratives for the Group. Assist in strengthening financial insights and capability of Great Eastern Group and its subsidiaries, partnering with local business finance and actuarial teams to uplift analytical frameworks, improve data robustness, and enhance the translation of technical results into business insights. Participate in Group Finance-related initiatives and projects. Drive efficiency and quality across Great Eastern Group through standardization of processes and centralised systems controls, empowered by technology and data analytics. Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks. Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company. Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices. Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent professional qualification(s). At least 7 years working experience in insurance industry. Prior experience in FP&A and/or audit is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex financial and actuarial information into clear business insights and recommendations. Sound business and commercial acumen, with good understanding of insurance fundamentals, value drivers, and financial performance metrics. Self-motivated and able to work independently, demonstrating ownership of deliverables while operating effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Curious and inquisitive mindset, with a willingness to challenge assumptions, seek continuous improvement, and enhance existing processes and analyses. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to present financial insights clearly to senior management and non-technical audiences. High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong judgement in handling sensitive financial information and management discussions.
