ABOUT THE ROLE
The AVP of Perioperative Services works in close partnership with the Vice President, Nursing & Patient Care Services to oversee fiscal and operational performance for a broad scope of departments, including:
The AVP serves as a key strategic partner, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing front-end and revenue cycle operations, standardizing perioperative policies and procedures, and leading marketing and business development efforts. This position represents the hospital to stakeholders including patients, medical staff, external agencies, and the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative leadership for perioperative operations, financial performance, staffing, and marketing.
Oversee budgets, analyze variances, and drive corrective action to meet fiscal targets.
Partner with surgical and anesthesia leaders to advance program development and strategic planning.
Direct personnel management, including recruitment, coaching, evaluation, and workforce planning.
Champion patient experience, safety, and MedStar’s SPIRIT values in all perioperative initiatives.
Promote surgical services through effective marketing and relationship building with payors and the community.
