About the role Techno is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rail and Transit Business Development Lead / Assistant Vice President to spearhead our pursuits in the transit and rail sector, focusing on design and construction management. This leadership role involves cultivating relationships with major transit agencies such as MTA, LIRR, Metro North, Amtrak, and New Jersey Transit, identifying new project opportunities, and leading proposals to secure new work. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of these agencies’ operations and procurement processes, combined with a strong background in civil engineering and business development. What you'll do Lead and manage business development efforts targeting the transit and rail sectors, including strategic pursuit planning, proposal development, and client engagement. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at agencies such as MTA, LIRR, Metro North, Amtrak, and New Jersey Transit. Identify new project opportunities and coordinate internally to leverage resources and expertise. Prepare and present technical proposals, statements of qualifications, and presentations to clients. Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to ensure pursuit strategies align with technical capabilities and client needs. Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitors’ activities to adjust pursuit strategies accordingly. Provide leadership and mentorship to pursuit and project teams. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings. Qualifications Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred. 5+ years of experience in transit and rail project pursuits, design, or construction management. Deep knowledge of the operations, procurement processes, and decision-making structures of agencies like MTA, LIRR, Metro North, Amtrak, and New Jersey Transit. Proven success in securing transit and rail sector projects. Existing relationships within transit agencies is a plus. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to develop strategic relationships with public agencies and private partners. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross-functional teams. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
