We are seeking an experienced warehouse leader, Assistant Warehouse Manager responsible for the 2-10pm shift at our Queensland Warehouse, located at Brendale, QLD.


About the role:

As the Assistant Warehouse Manager (PM Shift), you will have full accountability for operational delivery across the PM Shift (2pm -10pm) specifically relating to Incoming, picking and put away activities. You will drive operational delivery, cost efficiency, safety, and team performance leading local execution.

This is a warehouse leadership role and requiring strong operational expertise, you will hold accountability for the shift’s operational delivery, leading team members to achieve safe, productive and customer-focused outcomes in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion APG Values - Customer First, Smart Service, One Team and Safe for All
  • Lead and develop warehouse teams through induction, training, performance management, cross-training, Scheduling, and time-and-attendance management.
  • Plan and coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, put-away, and management of drivers.
  • Drive operational performance by communicating targets, managing resources, managing overtime, supporting OTIF delivery, and resolving service failures.
  • Maintain safety and compliance standards through WHS support, toolbox talks, hazard and incident reporting, inspections and process adherence.
  • Protect inventory and assets by maintaining stock accuracy, quality control, asset registers, vehicle servicing and repairs, and reporting theft or damage.
  • Ensure effective use of systems and reporting and completion of daily routines.
  • Promote continuous improvement and workplace standards by identifying efficiency opportunities, maintaining a clean and organised warehouse, and ensuring professional presentation of staff, vehicles, and property.
  • Be responsible for maintaining appropriate site-security standards and protecting APG people, inventory, assets, and facilities throughout the shift and end of shift.


About you:

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience in warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational KPIs across service, cost, safety, and productivity.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams. Confidence managing performance, attendance, training, and team capability.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and operational compliance requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style aligned to values-driven organisations.
  • Experience maintaining site security and loss-prevention measures to protect people, stock, vehicles, equipment, and property (site lockup)
