Assistant Warehousing Manager Job Description Our company is seeking a talented Assistant Warehousing Manager to join our Supply Chain team. This position will assist the Distribution manager to manage staff, optimize processes, and ensure safety and productivity targets are met.  Duties and Responsibilities * Develop and enforce safety and security protocols to ensure a safe working environment * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards * Supervise, train, and assist in development of warehouse staff to foster a high-performing environment by motivating the team and setting clear goals * Manage warehouse staff by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results * Manage inventory levels and movement, conducting regular cycle counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory records * Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity and inventory accuracy * Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures * Recommend ways to improve distribution methods, equipment performance, and quality of product * Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments * Verify or prepare records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders Qualifications Requirements and Qualifications * Degree in business management, logistics, supply chain management, a related field, or equivalent experience * 3-5+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution role, with prior management experience preferred * Strong leadership skills are necessary to supervise and motivate a team * Certifications in inventory management, logistics, or operating equipment like forklifts are recommended * The ability to analyze data and implement effective solutions is crucial * Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex logistical details and processes * Familiarity with WMS, ERP software, Oracle EBS, and Microsoft Office Suite * Capability to work in a fast-paced environment * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills * Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to manage a broad range of personalities, both internally and externally
