ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER - KELOWNA, BC

A well-established and growing company in the building materials distribution sector is currently seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support daily operations and team leadership at one of its regional locations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong operational background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively to meet customer needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in a related field such as building materials, logistics, warehousing, or distribution
  • Experience with team support, scheduling, or basic leadership responsibilities am asset
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally
  • Working knowledge of inventory or warehouse management systems and standard office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills

    - Able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical duties as part of day-to-day operations

Responsibilities
  • Assist with overseeing day-to-day branch operations to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Help implement company procedures that improve operational performance and service quality.
  • Address customer issues and inventory discrepancies in a timely, professional manner.
  • Support inventory control processes through inspections, cycle counts, and proper documentation.
  • Contribute to annual inventory audits by coordinating tasks and monitoring compliance.
  • Help organize staff scheduling, shift coverage, and workflow adjustments as needed.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to team members, promoting a respectful and motivated workplace.
  • Coordinate with other departments and sales staff to ensure a smooth and efficient order-to-delivery process.
  • Assist in various branch functions including shipping, warehouse operations, sales assistance, and front-line customer service.

    - Participate in hiring and onboarding activities for new team members.
