Description Assistant Yard and Equipment Manager The Yard and Equipment Manager assists and supports the laborers, foremen, project manager and superintendents at the Powhatan Yard. The position performs routine daily activities related to the overall organization of the company yard and day-to-day support of ongoing crew operations. The position is responsible for driver and operator training. The Yard and Equipment Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team player and possess strong communication and yard organization skills.??? Responsibilities: Assist in the effective Implement of our new inspection and maintenance tracking platform Safety Culture. Manage & organize equipment & materials in yard Inventory materials weekly Oversee material waste and dumpster pickups Daily deliveries to jobsites (if & when required) Performs vehicle and equipment maintenance Ensures timely service of all relevant equipment/vehicles/property Performs selected preventive facility maintenance and ensures upkeep and maintenance of the yard, parking areas, and buildings Reports any problems and/or safety hazards to the Yard and Equipment Manager or COO Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, state regulations, and all company safety policies and procedures Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Two years in Construction or related field and on-the-job experience is preferred Ability to work effectively with minor supervision Conversational in English and Spanish (preferred) Ability to work overtime as needed Possess strong relationship building skills Team player Driver's License and clean driving record, Class A CDL preferred Good time management and organizational skills Mechanical aptitude
